Hurrican Preparation guide - september 2024
Hurricane Helen Preparedness Guide:

BEFORE
- Follow your local officials as to storm preparation and planning. The first priority is to take all recommended steps to protect life.
- Take videos of your entire property, inside and out. If time allows! You will want to have this available to show the current condition of your property before storm damage, if any.
- Make sure you have electronic copies of any receipts for any big-ticket items as far as your personal property. This will help ensure that you are fully and fairly compensated for any damaged contents. If you do not have receipts, take pictures of the item and be sure to document model numbers.
AFTER
- Prior to signing any contracts or documents, give us a call so that we can review them for you.
- Be very careful with contractors - especially if they tell you they will cover your deductible - this is 3rd degree felony!
- Unless a person is a Public Adjuster or an Attorney, it is illegal for them to offer to deal directly with your insurance company regarding your claim.
If you have questions about your policy or your coverages, feel free to call me. After the storm, we can help you, your family, friends or neighbors get back to normal and handle your insurance claim to get compensation for the damages. I have represented hundreds of policyholders and obtained the compensation due to them under their policy and can help you understand your coverages and your rights. Above all Stay Safe,
Dave Yon, Esq.
